Project No. BGENERGY-2.003-0020 “Improving Energy Efficiency at Laki 131 OOD

“LAKI 131” OOD has successfully completed the implementation of the contract under project BGENERGY-2.003-0020 “Improving Energy Efficiency at Laki 131 OOD” under the “Renewable Energy, Energy Efficiency, Energy Security” Programme, with the financial support of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway through the European Economic Area Financial Mechanism 2014–2021.

Project No. BGENERGY-2.003-0020 “Improving Energy Efficiency at Laki 131 OOD
The overall objective of the project was to introduce energy efficiency measures for the optimisation and implementation of energy-efficient solutions and technologies, through which increased efficiency of industrial processes.

The overall objective of the project was to introduce energy efficiency measures for the optimisation and implementation of energy-efficient solutions and technologies, through which increased efficiency of industrial processes in production and enhanced competitiveness of Bulgarian enterprises was achieved. The specific objective of the project was to improve the energy efficiency of Laki 131 OOD by applying energy-saving technologies, measures and systems, thereby contributing to increasing the company’s competitiveness, establishing sustainable ecological development and reducing the negative impact of its activities on the environment.

The implementation of the project resulted in energy efficiency that will ensure long-term sustainability and multiplication of energy savings in the enterprise. Bilateral relations with the donor countries were also strengthened through the establishment of a partnership between “Laki 131” OOD and IDN Research AS from the Kingdom of Norway, involving exchange of experience, best practices and use of the partner’s capacity for acquiring new knowledge and skills in the fields of energy efficiency, circular economy and green energy.

The following measures to improve energy efficiency in the industrial processes in the production of “Laki 131” OOD were successfully implemented: purchase of a robotic system for mechanical cleaning of aluminium castings, purchase of a dryer for silicone gaskets powered by waste heat from the compressors, construction of a rooftop photovoltaic power plant, implementation of devices for monitoring and managing the generated energy. The results of the project include the introduction of energy efficiency measures in industrial processes and lower electricity consumption, which has a direct and positive effect on the environment, as energy costs are reduced, leading to more efficient use of energy resources in production, as well as reduced CO2 emissions and other local harmful pollutants.

The total value of the project is BGN 378,144.00, of which BGN 283,512.40 is grant funding.

The activities started on 19.05.2023 and were completed on 30.07.2024.
